Week 11: The Importance of Social Media in Journalism

Social media plays a key role in journalism, and this week I realized just how useful a tool social media is when it comes to interviews.


When writing my final news article, I had to interview three different people and I was struggling to find people to interview for my chosen news-story topic.


Thanks to social media I was able to find I was able to find different groups and pages that relate to my story, and reached out to people through these groups and pages asking them if they would like to be interviewed for my article.


If not for social media I would have had no people to interview, and therefore no article to write.
